Car A/C Repair & Heating in Newbury Park, CA

When the A/C starts blowing warm on a Conejo Valley afternoon, we find out why — leak detection, recharge, compressor and condenser replacement, and heater repair for all makes.

Signs Your A/C Needs Service

  • Air that’s cool but not cold, or warm at idle and in traffic
  • Weak airflow from the vents
  • A musty or mildew smell when the A/C turns on
  • Clicking, rattling or squealing when the compressor engages
  • Water on the passenger-side floor
  • A/C that works some days and not others

Why Not Just Add Refrigerant?

Your A/C is a sealed system. If it’s low on refrigerant, it has a leak — and topping it off only buys time while the leak gets worse. We find the leak with dye and electronic detection, repair it, then evacuate and recharge the system to your vehicle’s exact specification so it stays cold.

Our A/C & Heating Services

  • A/C performance check and diagnosis
  • Leak detection and repair
  • Refrigerant evacuation and recharge — R-134a and R-1234yf
  • Compressor, condenser, evaporator and expansion valve replacement
  • Blower motor, blend door and climate control repairs
  • Cabin air filter replacement
  • Heater core, thermostat and no-heat diagnosis

Southern California Is Tough on A/C

Long summers and short trips keep your A/C under constant load, and a system that sits unused all winter can lose its seal lubrication. Have the system checked before the hottest months, and replace the cabin air filter on schedule so the blower isn’t working harder than it has to.

FAQ

A/C & Heating Questions

Why not just add refrigerant to my A/C?

Your A/C is a sealed system. If it’s low on refrigerant, it has a leak, and a can from the parts store only buys time. We find the leak, repair it, then evacuate and recharge the system to your vehicle’s specification so it stays cold.

How often should my car’s A/C be checked?

There’s no fixed interval, but it’s smart to have the system checked before summer and any time it stops cooling the way it used to. Running the A/C for a few minutes every week in winter keeps the compressor seals lubricated.

Why does my car A/C smell musty?

Moisture on the evaporator can grow mold and mildew, and a clogged cabin air filter makes it worse. A new cabin filter is the first step; we can treat the evaporator and check the drain from there.

Do you service the newer R-1234yf refrigerant?

Yes. Most vehicles built since about 2015 use R-1234yf instead of R-134a. We service both, and we recover and recharge refrigerant with the proper equipment rather than venting it.

My heater blows cold — can you fix that?

Yes. No heat usually comes from a stuck thermostat, low coolant, a clogged heater core or a blend-door actuator. We diagnose the cause and quote the repair before any work starts.
