Brake Repair in Newbury Park, CA
Squealing, grinding or a soft pedal? We inspect the whole brake system and fix what’s actually worn — pads, rotors, calipers, hoses and fluid — on every make and model.
Signs Your Brakes Need Attention
- A high-pitched squeal when you brake — many pads have a built-in wear indicator that makes this noise
- Grinding or scraping, which can mean the pads are worn down to metal
- A soft, spongy or low brake pedal
- The car pulling to one side when you stop
- A pulsing pedal or a shaking steering wheel under braking
- The brake warning light or ABS light on your dash
Don’t wait on grinding. Metal-on-metal contact damages rotors quickly and turns a pad replacement into a bigger job.

Every brake job starts with an inspection. We check the pads, rotors, calipers, hoses and lines, and the condition of your brake fluid — then explain what we found and what it will take to fix it. Nothing gets done until you approve it.

The Conejo Grade Is Hard on Brakes
If you drive the Conejo Grade regularly, your brakes work harder than the average commuter’s. Long downhill stretches heat up pads and rotors, and stop-and-go traffic on the 101 and Lynn Rd wears pads faster than open-highway miles. A quick brake check whenever your tires are rotated catches wear before it becomes a safety problem.

Brake Repair Questions
How often should I have my brakes checked?
Have them looked at whenever your tires are rotated, and right away if you hear grinding, feel a pulse in the pedal or see a brake warning light. Since we already have the wheels off for tire work, a brake check is an easy add-on.
Why are my brakes squealing?
Most pads have a small metal wear indicator that squeals when the pad gets thin. Glazed pads or rust on the rotors can also squeal. An inspection tells us which, and whether you have time left on the pads.
Is it safe to drive with the brake light on?
Not for long. The brake warning light can mean low fluid, a hydraulic problem or an engaged parking brake. If the pedal feels soft or low, stop driving and call us at (805) 499-4811.
Do you do brake work on trucks and SUVs?
Yes — cars, trucks, SUVs and fleet vehicles, domestic and import.
